Physics 171 Exams
Spring 2005
Exam study tips:
- Study problems, not the book or the lecture notes. Use
the study problems given in the homework assignments, and similar
problems in the book. Go back to the book and the lecture notes only to
clarify a point that you are stuck on in doing problems.
- After some initial studying, take the sample exam with a 1 hour
time limit. This will get you used to doing an exam with a time limit,
and will help you to know your weak points.
- Get help if you need it.
Exam rules:
- Bring a working calculator to the exam.
- You will be provided with a formula sheet. You may not use your
book or any notes.
Tips for taking exams:
- Read the entire exam through before beginning work.
- Do the easiest problems first.
- Keep track of time and make
sure you attempt every problem.
- You must show your work to get full credit, just like on
the homework.
- May Newton's laws be with you!
