Preparing a Poster Presentation

Posters can cover any subject within the three audiences and three issues of the conference. The audiences are:

• The future of the physics major,
• Physics courses for scientists and engineers,
• Preparing teachers of physics.

And the issues are:

• New educational goals,
• Implications of physics education research,
• The application of modern technologies.

If you have not already done so, please e-mail the title and an abstract of your poster to Dan Campbell.

(If you prefer, you may fax it to Dan at: +301-314-9525) The abstract should be about one paragraph to a half page.

The poster boards themselves are 4 feet tall x 4 feet wide (about 1.25 meter square). Invited posters will get 4 x 8 feet. If you need any other equipment for your presentation, like a table or projector, let us know and we will arrange it.

All posters will be set up for the duration of the conference. When you arrive on Tuesday, please be ready to set up your poster after you check in to the conference or Tuesday evening after the reception. We will schedule one of the three afternoons for you to present your poster to the rest of the conferees.

Contributed posters get two pages of space in the proceedings book. Invited posters get up to eight pages. Please bring with you to the conference a camera-ready copy of your manuscript.
