Professor Jim Gates spent two weeks in South Africa this past May to attend various events at three institutions. The primary reason for his visit was to attend the AIMS Research Center opening celebration, which included David Gross, George Smoot, Michael Griffin and Stephen Hawking (LEFT with Gates).
