RECENT EVENTS

Physics Faculty Travel to China

Professors Andrew Baden, Jim Gates, Xiandong Ji and Rabindra Mohapatra traveled to Beijing, China in June. Together, they participated in a meeting hosted by The Institute for High Energy Physics entitled, "Workshop on Possible Parity Restoration at High Energy." Individually, they each held presentations, interacted with colleagues or met with university officials.

Additionally, Professor Jordan Goodman and Andrew Smith, Research Scientist, traveled to Tibet and Beijing to participate in a separate research activity.

Professor Gates Travels to South Africa

Jim Gates, Professor , visited South Africa to give a plenary address to the South African Institutes of Physics (their equivalent to the American Physical Society). Additionally, he will visit the African Institute for the Mathematical Sciences.

Professor Jacobson returns from giving several talks in Europe

Ted Jacobson, Professor, was invited to give plenary talks at seven meetings this summers. As of July, he has accepted invitations to give the following four lectures:
