**On December 16, 2003 Maryland Physics held its annual Holiday Party to celebrate the season with yummy appetizers, fun door prizes and good company! Many thanks to all of those who worked to make the party a success!

**Professor Michael Fuhrer and his team of researchers recently found that semiconducting carbon nanotubes have the highest mobility of any known material at room temperature. This has led to significant press coverage for Dr. Fuhrer and his colleagues, including articles in U.S. News & World Report, the New York Times and InfoWorld.
