I taught two undergraduate courses in 2009. Physics 142, the second semester course of the general physics series for science majors, and Physics 270 taught to about 90 engineering students for the third semester of their general physics sequence. I continue to enjoy mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in a laboratory environment, and helping guide post-docs with research projects.
Giving back to the physics community takes many forms. I referee for prominent journals, maintain common facilities, lecture at workshops and meetings, collaborate with many national and international research groups, and informally help and advise UMD research colleagues.
