The temperature sensors, all Cernox sensors from Lakeshore, Model CX-0170-AA-4L, are connected to the target and to the Oxford Controllers in the following way. Controller #1: TS1 = X10052 TS2 = X10943 TS3 = X11078 Controller #2: TS4 = X10056 TS5 = X11064 TS6 = X10407 Two additional sensors will be used to measure coolant temperature. These go into the controls system via a "Thermometer Box" consisting of a battery and load resistor, with four possible locations for sensors. The two coolant sensors are: x16458 (sensor A) x16462 (sensor B) For these, the controls system measures a voltage, as well as the voltage across the load resistor and the voltage across the battery. The resistance is then calculated as R_A = (V_A / V_RL) * R_L Typical values for R_A are about 5000 ohms at 20 degrees K, and 100 ohms at 300 K. The load resistor is 15.00 kohms, and the battery is 1.6 V, so a typical voltage is about Once the resistance is determined, the temperature is calculated using the fitted Chebyshev Polynomial expressions provided by Lakeshore.
