Registration and Accommodation

Registration

The registration fee is US$290. Late registration (postmarked after 10 May 1996) is US$350. The registration fee covers:

Attendance at all conference talks, poster sessions, and four sample classes.
A welcome reception during registration Tuesday.
Coffee breaks between sessions.
A reception at the American Center for Physics on Thursday evening.
A conference banquet on Friday evening.
A copy of the conference proceedings.

Please note this fee does not include lodging or meals costs.

To register, fill out a registration/accommodation form and mail it with your payment to the address on the form. Forms are contained inside the conference description booklet. If you do not have a conference description booklet, and your web browser can print you may obtain a form as follows:

Accommodation

On-campus: Residence Halls: Participants are encouraged to stay in the air-conditioned suite-style residence halls and eat in the nearby dining halls available at the University of Maryland. The suites are carpeted, furnished, and include linens and a phone. They house four to seven same-gender persons, with single and double rooms (twin-size beds), and a shared living room and bathroom.
This package includes four nights (30 July - 2 August), breakfast and lunch (30 July - 3 August) and dinner on 30 July. The cost for this package is $175. If you prefer a single room or would like to stay Saturday, 3 August, the additional charges are $20 and $30 respectively. Please indicate all preferences, and include payment, on the registration form. Singles are limited and will be assigned on a first-come first-served basis.
*On-campus: University Inn: The University Inn and Conference Center is holding a block of rooms until 10 May 96 for ICUPE participants. The rates are $74(+tax)/night for a single and $89(+tax)/night for a double. * A meals-only package is available for those staying at the University Inn or off campus. The cost is $60. Please indicate, and include payment, on the registration form if you want the meals-only package.

AAPT participants: If you are planning to attend the AAPT Summer Meeting which immediately follows the ICUPE meeting, you will not be required to move to another housing location, but you must register for housing on the bottom portion of the ICUPE registration and accommodation form. You must still register for the AAPT meeting.

Payment

Payment may be made by VISA, MasterCard, purchase order, check on a US bank, or International Money Order. Please make checks payable to The University of Maryland. All funds must be in US dollars. Mail registration and accommodation forms to:

Refunds

Registrants withdrawing by 12 July 1996 will be entitled to a full refund less a $25 processing charge. No refunds will be given after this date.

Parking

If you are staying in University residence halls, you are entitled to free parking with your housing registration. A parking permit will be given to you upon arrival at the residence hall. If you are staying at the University Inn and Conference Center or if you are commuting from off campus, you will need to pay for parking. Permits will be sold at registration and upon check-in at the Conference Center parking garage.
