Participants Wanted
The Physics Education Research Group consists of faculty, staff, and Ph.D. physics graduate students. We investigate issues related to student learning of college
physics. In the Fall semester of 1997, we began a new (> 0.5 M$) 3-year project on STUDENT DIFFICULTIES WITH LEARNING QUANTUM MECHANICS.
We are currently soliciting participants in various phases of our groups activities, including:
- GRADUATE RESEARCH - graduate students interested in exploring the option of a Ph.D. in physics education research. Ph.D. graduate students are expected to have a Bachelors degree in physics and meet the same requirements expected of all Ph.D. students in the department
- GRADUATE RESEARCH - graduate students in other sub-disciplines of physics interested in strengthening their education experience
with a part-time semester-long project (valuable in todays academic job market)
- PHYS 708: PHYSICS EDUCATION RESEARCH SEMINAR (FACULTY AND GRADUATE STUDENTS)
If interested, contact Prof. E.F. Redish at redish@quark.umd.edu
