we’d rather not have the students read a problem then either:
have the students naturally using physical principles and concepts when solving quantitative problems
try to remmeber how they were told to solve a similar problem
or just search for the formulas that wil give the unknown they are looking for
we would like them to think about the problem -
then use basic principles and
concepts they have developed to pick the correct formula to use and solve the problem
