Charge transport in the CuO2 planes of high temperature superconductors:
An experimental review
Matthew Grayson
(University of Maryland)
Abstract: We will present an overview of recent experimental
results studying charge transport and quasiparticle lifetimes in high Tc's,
focusing on the anomalous temperature dependence of the normal state Hall
scattering rate. In the course of this discussion, we will describe
contesting theories which try to explain these data and show which theories
survive a comparison to the latest results. This talk is intended
specifically to provide context for the upcoming two condensed matter seminars
on November 19 by N. P. Ong and on December 9 by Peter Johnson.
