• independence -- Does the student believe in their own need to interpret and understand or do they rely on authority?
• coherence -- Does the student believe that physics is a coherent, consistent framework, or a set of isolated “facts”?
• concepts -- Does the student focus on underlying ideas and concepts, or try to get by with memorized equations?
