PALS Bake/Yard Sale

PALS held their annual bake/yard sale on November 12th and raised over $450, $200 more than last year. The monies will be donated to the Physics Undergraduate Student Fund.

Superstition: Belief in the Age of Science

Robert Park, Professor Emeritus, gave a talk at Caltech on November 23, 2008. His talk was entitled
"Superstition: Belief in the Age of Science."

Professor Redish Gives Special Seminar at Stanford University

On September 25 and 26, Joe Redish, Professor, visited the Stanford University Physics Department and gave a special seminar on the topic: "Problem Solving and the Use of Math in Physics Courses"; and a seminar for graduate TAs on "Reinventing the Recitation: Some insights into teaching and learning."

Staff Awards

The Physics Department held its Annual Staff Awards and Appreciation Reception on October 15th in the Toll Room. The following people received awards at the event:
