GRADE

The course grade will be based on exams, homework, class and the laboratory weighted roughly as follows:
 
 
 


3 class exams
30%
quizzes and problems done on the board:  
10%
homework on web:
5%
homework off web:
5%
final exam:
25%
laboratory:
25%

 
 
 

I will examine borderline cases in detail and will include class participation in deciding your grade. 
 
 
 
 
 
 

The course averages required for the letter grades vary from term to term depending on overall class performance and the distribution of scores, and are decided after the overall course scores are calculated.
 
 

Note: an "F" or incomplete in the laboratory will result in an "F" for the entire course.
