Homework assignments will be delivered and graded online via iLrn system from Brooks/Cole, the publisher of the textbook.
- The general link is http://www.iLrn.com.
- Make sure to check system requirements, which are specified at the end of the bottom line on the iLrn page. iLrn supports Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher (6.0 recommended) and Mozilla 1.2.1 or higher, but not Netscape. You also need to enable pop-up windows by adding east.ilrn.com to the list of pop-up exception.
- For login, you can go to "First Time Users" of "Login" on the main page http://www.iLrn.com. First you will need select the school. Be careful to select "University of Maryland (College Park, MD)", not "University of Maryland University College (College Park, MD)".
- To avoid problems with school selection, it is recommended to go directly to following addresses:
- For first-time users and PIN code registration: http://east.ilrn.com/ilrn/accounts/prepRegister.do?makeGrade=0&inst=002103
- For those who already have a username and password: http://east.ilrn.com/ilrn/accounts/login.do?inst=002103
- The link for the first-time users takes you to the screen where you need to enter the PIN code you were given by email. Better copy and paste this code with a mouse, rather than type it by hand.
- You also need to enter your valid e-mail address, select a password, and fill-in other registration information. It is very important to fill in correct information such as your name, e-mail address, and your student identification number. Enter the digits of you student number without any dashes. Your student number will be used at the end of the semester to export your grades from iLrn to UMD. If the number is wrong, you will have troubles with the grade.
- Once you finish registration, you should see a menu. Select "My Assignments", and you should see Homework0.
- Please finish your registration by the end of the week, before the class on Tuesday, September 7, 2004. I must see all of you on the registration list of iLrn by that time.
- Help: The following links on the main page http://www.iLrn.com may be useful: "Student Support", "Student Tutorial", and "iLrn Student's Quick Start Guide". If you encounter problems, please ask me for help.
