The experimental Nuclear Physics Group at the University of Maryland carries out studies o the nuclear many body problem in terms of nucleons, hadrons, quarks and gluons using a variety of intermediate and high energy probes at particle accelerators in the United States, Canada, Europe and Japan.
Currently, much of our work is carried out at the CEBAF 6 GeV, 100% duty factor electron accelerator at the Jefferson National Laboratory in Newport News, VA. This energy regime allows us to study the evolution from descriptions in terms mesons and nucleons to a QCD-based description. Our group is supported by funds from the Nuclear Physics Division of the National Science Foundation
